Abu Ali, a 15 minute epos composed by Ziad Rahbani that fuses Arabic orchestration around an atmospheric disco groove and cosmic synthesizer lines. On the flip, ‘Prelude (Theme from Mais El Rim)’, a strong example of Ziad’s 70’s soundtrack work. Recorded at Columbia studios in Athens and originally released from Zida, a short life music label owned by Ziad Rahbani and Khatchik Mardirian.
