Orchestra Baobab’s Mouhamadou Bamba is one of their greatest albums, originaly release in 1981. The eight tracks seamlessly fuse delicate African and Afro-Cuban rhythms with direction from percussionist saxophonist Issa Sissokh and guitarist Barthelemy Attiso. The sound of the group is a perfect syncretism of the Senegalese and Afro-Cuban imaginary in which the montunos of electric guitars and the vocal improvisations in Wolof language are subtly married to the rhythms of Cuban sound and other boleros.
